Afritwiter was established to make it easier for persons of African descent to find each other on twitter.  It evolved into a means for other cultures to connect with and learn about persons of African descent and persons of West African descent who's ancestors were traded as part of the Atlantic slave trade.  Afritwitter is a cultural site which seeks to foster greater understanding between Africans, persons with African ancestors and all cultures of the world.
